Emergency Crisis Hotlines

If you’re in crisis or looking for help for a friend or family member, there are dozens of organizations available to help with a variety of immediate concerns, from crisis situations and domestic violence, to rape and substance abuse. Most of these hotlines are available 24 hours a day, and can help with whatever level of assistance needed — from general information about a topic, to finding immediate intervention. The hotlines below are listed in alphabetical order according to topic.

If you or someone you know is suicidal, it is recommended to contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline toll-free at 800-273-8255. You can also text "HELLO" to the Crisis Text Line at 741741. Additional crisis and suicide hotlines are available in the 'Crisis and Suicide' category below,

Need help for domestic violence? Call toll-free: 800-799-7233 (SAFE).

I know for me personally, if these numbers were readily available to me in my time of crisis, they would have  been a lifeline. I recommend bookmarking this page and putting the numbers that you feel are the most important in your phone.
